I grew up outside of Louisville, Kentucky.  As a child I was blessed with good teachers who introduced me to writing.  I wrote and in return, they displayed my stories in hallways, entered my essays in contests, praised my pieces, and encouraged me to continue writing.  When I grew up, I became a teacher so I could guide fourth graders in the love of the written word and help them find their own true joy in writing.  

I'm now retired from teaching but love to visit classrooms and help students develop their own story ideas.  

My grown-up home is in Northern Kentucky with my husband James, my border collie Mattie, and a tuxedo cat named Spatz.  If I'm not writing, you might find me hiking, reading, quilting, or Jazzercising.
